Twin-share or Double Room - AVAILABLE indefinitely from 18/9/14.
Single Room - AVAILABLE 16/10/14 to 14/11/14, also 12/12/14 to 22/2/15.
Homestay Room (includes 2 meals per day and laundry) - $230 per week for 1 person or $390 for 2 people - minimum 1 week stay – or may let as Furnished Room Only at $160pw for 1 or $250 for 2.
We are a caring and considerate Australian born couple with a 3 bedroom family home near Southport Park Shopping Centre. One Single Bedroom and one Twin-share/Double Bedroom are set up for student accommodation but are equally suitable for short stay or emergency lodgings. We prefer to use them for Homestay – i.e. we provide breakfast and dinner each day and homestay guests are treated as adult members of our family. We may agree to let a room as Furnished Room Only if someone has a situation where they are seldom home at our Dinner Time – i.e. guests share the Bathroom and eat out or cook for themselves with limited access to the kitchen at our dinner time.
WIFI, water and electricity are all included in the price.
Large back yard and park nearby for recreation. Major shopping centre and Imagine Education Centre are just five minutes walk away. Tavern and popular fast food outlets are ten minutes walk. Southport CBD (Australia Fair, TAFE, Brown’s English Language School, Shafton International College, Gold Coast Language Schools, CQ University, Gold Coast Hospital, and Griffith University Centre for Medical and Oral Health) is two minutes walk then ten minutes bus ride. Bus to Surfers Paradise (several English language schools, beach, nightclubs and tourist hub) is about ten minute walk then twelve minute ride. These are all an easy bicycle ride or you can walk if you are so inclined. Plenty of on street parking if you have a car.
Griffith University Gold Coast Campus at Parkwood is typically 30 - 40 minutes each way by bus (change buses at Australia Fair) or 20 minutes by bicycle – get your daily exercise and avoid bus fares and parking fines or charges.
To encourage our guests to speak English only, we may not accept two overseas students with the same native language at the same time, except in the twin-share/double room.
We have been hosting overseas students since 2004 and are very experienced in helping newcomers to make the most of the Gold Coast's many facilities.
Room 1 has two Single Beds but they can be placed together and made up as one Queen-sized Bed for a couple if requested.
